General Data Protection Regulations were introduced and came into force on 25^th May 2018. Compliance with the regulations will be an ongoing process. We have appointed a Data Protection Officer to advise and manage compliance with these regulations.

Due to changes being made by our current Management Information System SIMS/Scomis, the school has had to look for alternative MIS providers. After researching several different MIS systems we feel IRIS  is the best option for our school.

• There is no change to the purpose, or the data which is being collected or

       processed. The only change is the new management system provider (IRIS).

• The platform enables the our school to meet its statutory obligation in relation to data collection, use and retention. The platform provides a secure and reliable system to keep data safe.

• IRIS School MIS is an established product which is used by a number of schools nationally. The system brings together a range of school data in a secure platform which supports schools in their public task.

• Due to the level of data involved we have completed a Data Protection Impact Assessment. We have also sought initial advice from our DPO who has confirmed that they are content with the proposal.

• The change will take place no later than 31^st March 2025
